Thank You

Thank You

I really mean it, thank you for making Triple X and FitForArchery one of my most successful training systems.

I first created TripleX last May, and in that time I’ve had an incredible amount of feedback about the training system, invited to do seminars and talks at club, articles in magazines as well as plenty of people coming up to me during tournament weekends to shake my hand.

I really do appreciate all that has happened over the last 12-18 months with FitForArchery.

So as a thank you I am going to offer a massive 50% discount on the physical version of TripleX.

Instead of the usual 197.00 dollars, your investment in Triple X for the next three days will be just $98.50 plus shipping and handling.

I’ve got about 20 copies ready to go right now, but I am only going to offer this for the next 3 days.

Once all the copies have gone thats it, the price will go back to the normal price.

So click the button below and we’ll get it shipped out right away.

Sorry this is no longer available, you can still get Triple X by going to this page:

Archery Fitness Program

My kind regards and gratitude to you all.

Tim

Today is the first day for my outdoor season. The first round of the European 5 Nations series in Wuustwezel, Belgium. A relatively unimpressive score, but OK for a first of the year. This is not necessarily the most physically demanding course in the world, as it is flat (read zero incline of any note!!!) and the course is quite short with very little walking between targets.

However shooting can still be physically tiring because of the mental workout you get from shooting. Certainly field archery requires an intense amount of concentration as there are simply more things to take in to account for each and every shot.

Something as small as wearing an uncomfortable pair of boots, or walking around with a degree of low back pain can cause your energy levels and your ability to concentrate fully throughout the day can be affected. Which makes your preparation for shooting more and more important.

I watched a group in front of my today, where one of the lady archers was carrying a massive back pack with her all day, probably in excess of 15 kilos, being lifted, carried on the back, and set down at least 30 times during the day. The act of carrying around large amounts of stuff can negatively impact your energy levels, your posture and your ability to perform over a long day of shooting… you certainly don’t practice for this added load.

So how would you train for this type of thing?

This is where most sports specific training gets completely blown out of the water, and why I believe most sports specific training has no place in most peoples preparation for their sport.

If you trained to be functionally more able, it wouldn’t matter if you carried a heavy back pack, bow, umbrella, and walking around with 4 layers of clothing on. A general conditioning program, where your muscles are able to handle more weight, be able to control your joint movements as well as function with multiple layers of clothing on certainly wouldn’t look anything like the isolation based, fixed path exercises many people do in modern gyms.

My overall philosophy on training for a sport like archery is this. Be fitter, stronger and more functionally able than the next person and your ability to perform will be improved.

Try not to get tied up with the little details of which muscles you should be exercising and which not. Just follow a program that makes you a physically more able person PERIOD.

Day 2 of the tournament is tomorrow, hopefully the stuff I learned today on the course will translate to a bigger score tomorrow… either way it is great to be outside again.

As always your comments below are always appreciated…

Losing fat is one of those things that many archers could do with spending some time on.

From personal experience of being over-weight and trying to be a competitive archer, shedding the extra pounds really makes more of a difference than you would imagine. When you are carrying all that extra weight around your body’s ability to maintain peak performance is severely impacted.

Building Muscle For Archery

Going up and down the slopes at many of the European Five Nations field tournaments is hard enough as it is without the burden of 10, 20 or more pounds of excess fat to lump up the hill.

The key to successful fat loss is your Metabolism, what you might not know is you have the capability of increasing your metabolism more than you would think.

To give you the simplest way of explaining what your metabolism is, is every function of your body requires energy, this energy consumption is your metabolism. So the more your body has to do to survive in its current state the higher the metabolism.increase metabolism in Luxembourg

Here is something I hear a lot…

“My metabolism is slow, that is why I can’t lose weight!”

And you’re probably right! But it is something you have more control over than you think. The common myth is that genetics plays a large role in your metabolic rate. Whilst genetics does impact your metabolism, it really only account s for about 5% of your overall metabolic rate.

Other things that impact your metabolism more are:

  • What and how you eat.
  • Your activity levels
  • How much effort your body has to do to maintain its current state.

Now here is a secret “cheat” I discovered a few years ago relating to fat loss. If you make your body work harder to maintain its current state, your body will burn more fat continuously throughout the day even when you are not moving!

Sounds too good to be true right?

And yet it is the secret utilized and optimised by every successful fat loss coach in the world.

By simply increasing the density and percentage of your lean mass(muscle) in your body, your body has to work considerably harder to maintain it. The increases in size are quite small, you don’t need to have a physique that scares small children, just modest increases in muscle tone can produce substantial fat loss.

So getting in the gym and lifting some weights is going to make your body achieve this secret “cheat” state.

Go on, cheat your way to a leaner body and zip around the field courses easier than you can imagine.
